Livingston Manor celebrated the academic achievements of its students during the Academic Awards breakfast. Families were invited to a buffet breakfast in the old gym the morning of May 22 for the ceremony, sponsored by the student council. The event began with a performance by the school band.
Nearly 60 students received awards, with special recognition given to junior Shelly McKinley, who received the Dwight D Eisenhower Leadership Award, which recognizes high school students who have already demonstrated excellence in character by virtue of their achievements in academics, athletics, community service, citizenship and leadership.
The following awards were presented:
Highest Grade Point Average: Students with the highest average in their classes.
Academic Achievement Award: Students who made the highest jump in their grades from the beginning of the year until the last marking period.
Academic Plaque: Seniors who have been on the Superintendent’s List for 75% of their four academic years.
Principal’s Award Pin: Students who had a combination of High Honor Roll and Superintendent’s List for three out of four marking periods in a school year.
Academic Chenille Letter: Students who have been on the Superintendent’s List for all four marking periods in a school year.
