Livingston Manor and Roscoe winter sports wrapped up with the boys varsity basketball team facing off against Eldred for the sectional title. Although it was a tough loss, the season was a success.
Following is a season wrap up from each of the coaches of our winter sports teams:
Boys Varsity Basketball
We had a very nice season. We worked hard and improved every day. We finished 2nd in the division with a 4-2 record. We played Eldred for the Class D section title at Mount Saint Mary's College. Unfortunately we lost a heartbreaker, but we will use the defeat as motivation for next year.

Boys JV Basketball
The boy’s JV Basketball team had an impressive season finishing with a final record of 12 wins and 3 losses, while also winning the Deposit/Hancock Tournament. With a small squad of only eight student-athletes, it always felt like we were at a disadvantage. But that was not the case with this team. Instead, these boys worked hard and developed unity, trust, and accountability in one another. Never used an excuse, but instead reflected and learned from mistakes. I am very proud of this group of young men and how we all progressed throughout the season to become better not just on the court, but off of it as well. I look forward to seeing what they will continue to accomplish in the future!

Boys Modified Basketball
The modified boys showed amazing growth throughout the season. They were able to present a solid understanding of the game of basketball as well as applying those improved skills on the court. I look forward to seeing the eighth graders move up to JV next year to continue their growth and to seeing the seventh graders come back next year to build off their new experiences.

Girls Varsity Basketball
The Girls Varsity Basketball team had a challenging season this year at times, but showed tremendous growth as a young team with a promising future. With no seniors on the team, the Wildcats fought hard all year and gave themselves a chance to win most games they were in. Although they finished with a 5-14 record, the team was in many close battles with quality teams across the section. Although they fell short at times, they never made it easy for the opposing team. Led by returners Kelsey Ryder, Julia Meola, Anastasia Niforatos, Leah Ladenhauf and Olivia Stickle, the Wildcats featured quality shooting, fast-paced play and hard-nosed defense. Key new pieces of Alexandra Potosek, Jaida Gould, Allison Froehlich and Grace Darder quickly rounded out the team and all had big moments throughout the year. Despite injuries and tough times, the Wildcats saw big wins against Sullivan West and Burke Catholic. The girls are looking forward to continuing to build off what they started this year and return next year even better.

Girls JV Basketball
The 2025 JV Girls Basketball team consisted of 10 girls—five from Manor and five from Roscoe. The girls have shown improvement from the beginning of the season. We finished the season 7-4, which was overall a successful season. This season we focussed on the skills and fundamentals of the game of basketball. We overcame many obstacles and finished strong in each game.We had many athletes improve throughout the season. I look forward to seeing what they can accomplish in the future.

Girls Modified Basketball
Our 2024-25 basketball season was an amazing learning experience. With two returning players and nine fresh faces we had some team highs and some team lows. The amount of growth that we have seen from day one until our last game made us so proud and honored to be coaching such a great group of girls. Our highlight of the season was our victory over Eldred, which happened to be our first game. Our girls learned what teamwork really is and that no matter how good a team, fear is not an option.

Cheer
This season we had 50% of our team as first-time members. Therefore, we had to spend a large portion of our early season on learning all of our cheers along with the fundamentals and basics of cheerleading form and technique. We then slowly progressed into learning our stunts. After that, we set our sights on achieving our goal that was set at the end of our season last year. We wanted to add more variety to our halftime performances this year and we knocked that goal out of the park by adding a holiday routine as well as a Senior Night routine to our performance repertoire. We look forward to having these routines as an annual part of our performances! In addition, we held a community service Cheerleader For A Day event, where students in grades 4-6 joined us for practice to learn our halftime routine, which they performed with us that evening at a Varsity Girls game. As always, it is great to see both our seasoned and newer team members exhibit confidence and leadership skills as they step into the coveted role of Game Captain where they take on the responsibility of leading the team through all of the floor cheers during game time. At the end of the season, we had the privilege of cheering our varsity boys on at the Sectionals game which was bittersweet as it was the last time we all will be wearing our maroon and white Wildcat colors. We will officially end our season with an awards ceremony to celebrate our accomplishments this season and goal setting to set our sights on what we will accomplish next season!
