On Jan. 30, Livingston Manor and Roscoe Girls JV/Varsity Basketball hosted their annual pink out cancer awareness contests. This was a joint effort with LMCS & RCS Varsity Girls Cheerleading and the Tri-Valley CSD and their programs.
The group, with the help of some local volunteers, was able to bring in more than $600 in donations to support a Sullivan County volunteer organization Ride 2 Survive, which gives back to individuals going through cancer treatments that may be in need financially. We thank the volunteers, the athletes and the communities for all of their support in this wonderful night to support a great cause locally. Big Shout out to the Roscoe-Rockland Ladies Auxiliary for providing pink socks for all of the LMCS & RCS athletes to wear!

Help! Our chairs quit! The students in Mrs Darder's second grade class wrapped up their opinion writing unit with a real challenge! Their chairs quit and in order to get them back, the students had to write a convincing, opinion piece as to why chairs are important in classrooms. The students did a fantastic job with their essay structure and had some super interesting reasons why chairs are important. They enjoyed working on the floor but they sure were happy when their chairs returned.
Parents and guardians! Do you have a Pre-K student for the 2024-2025 school year? We are excited to find out! Students must turn 4 years old on or before Dec. 1, 2024. Please call Mrs. Cuttita at 845-439-4400, ext. 1200, if you do! Registration will take place in May by appointment only.
Livingston Manor Library is hosting a monthly Sensory Play Series for children and their families starting in February. The Sensory Play Series targets neurodiverse children ages 3-10 and their families and seeks to provide children with an experience that is flexible and responsive to their natural play style. It is inclusive of the whole family, offering caregivers tools and games they can play at home to further connect with their child. Each month will model sensory play, focusing on a different sense i.e. sight, sound, touch, smell, taste and movement/balance led by artist and producer Jess Kaufman.
The first program will focus on taste and will feature a guest from the Neon Croissant and musical accompaniment by Joe Bergstein.
Those who wish to attend are asked to sign up at the library by calling 845-439-5440, emailing livingstonmanorlibrary@rcls.org or emaiing livingstonmanorlibrary.org/programsignup.
